The 132nd Canton Fair, which launched online on October 15, has attracted more than 35,000 exhibitors and 510,000 overseas buyers from 229 countries and regions as of October 24. The fair’s official website also attracted 10.42 million visitors, recording 38.56 million page visits.
The fair will continue to offer online services, except for scheduled live streaming and negotiations from October 25, 2022 to March 15, 2023, said Xu Bing, spokesman for the fair.
According to Xu, the fair had a record number of exhibitors and their products. Attracting over 35,000 exhibitors, a 40% increase over the previous session, the total number of exhibits surpassed his 3.3 million, a 10% increase over the previous session.
In terms of international cooperation, the fair currently has 177 global partners of industrial and commercial organizations. Among overseas buyers, 284,600 are from Belt and Road countries, accounting for 55.72% of the total. More professional buyers attended the fair, including 72 large multinational companies, an increase of 41.18% compared to the previous session.
The fair also launched a series of trade matchmaking promotional events, including more than 80 “Trade Bridge” matchmaking events and “Discover Canton Fair with Bees and Honey” activities. The event covered 46 major markets around the world, including the United States, Germany, France, 26 Belt and Road countries, and Hong Kong.
In addition, the fair features 5 cross-border e-commerce platforms and 132 comprehensive pilot zones on its website, providing more ways for businesses to explore the market.
