SINGAPORE – 134 drug offenders were arrested and about $555,000 worth of drugs, airsoft guns and pellets were seized in an island-wide raid from 15 to 26 August, officials said. The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) said Thursday (August 26).

Drugs seized during the operation included: 3,730 g heroin, 866 g ice or crystal methamphetamine, 5,240 g cannabis, 2 g ketamine, 21 g new psychoactive substances, 51 ecstasy tablets, 108 erimin-5 tablets, 29 yaba. 1″ tablet, 1 bottle of methadone, and 4 bottles of liquid suspected of containing GHB (gamma-hydroxybutyric acid).

Areas targeted in the raids included Bukit Batok, Karang and Sengkang, according to a CNB release.

CNB officers arrested two 21-year-old Singaporean men near Gimmo Road in follow-up operations on Wednesday and Thursday.

The arrests came after immigration officers at the parcel post section of Eunos’ Singapore Post Center noticed something unusual when scanning the parcel on Tuesday and found 26g of cannabis hidden in a CD case. rice field. The case was then referred to CNB.

One of the men was found carrying 71g of cannabis. A further 120 grams of drugs and various drug paraphernalia were subsequently seized from his residence.

An airsoft gun and pellets were found in his vehicle and these were sent to police for further investigation.

In another raid Tuesday morning, CNB officers targeted a residential unit near Chai Chee Avenue and arrested two Singaporean men, aged 58 and 59.

A small amount of heroin and methadone bottles were seized from the unit along with drug paraphernalia.

CNB said they were believed to have thrown the suspected controlled substance out the window before they were arrested. His three packets containing about 13g of heroin and straws were later recovered by CNB officers.

An investigation is underway for all arrested suspects.

Heroin and cannabis are among the drugs often abused here, with ice taking the top spot, according to CNB figures.

A total of 2,724 people were arrested last year, bringing the total value of drugs seized to $18.16 million.
