Liverpool have signed a £ 6.5 million deal with Aberdeen’s full-back Calvin Ramsay.

The 18-year-old, who broke into Don’s first team last season and made 33 appearances, costs £ 4 million in advance and the rest are appearance-related add-ons, PA news agency understands.

That £ 4m price is higher than the previous high that Scottish Premiership received when Scott McKenna moved to Nottingham Forest for £ 3m reported in September 2020.

Ramsey’s performance last season awarded him the Scottish Football Reporter’s Young Player of the Year Award.

Following Darwin Núñez, a £ 85m club record transfer and the signing of Fulham’s 19-year-old Fabio Carvalho, Ramsey is expected to be the last player to be hired this summer.

He may travel to Merseyside for medical care later this week.

Manager Jurgen Klopp is understood to be a fan of England and Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham, but the German club has already sold one of the main players of Erling Blaut to Manchester City. Therefore, we will not allow you to participate in another event.

But midfielders Alex Oxlade Chamberlain and Naby Keita may need to be strengthened next summer as they enter the last 12 months of their current deal.
