The 48-hour negative nucleic acid test (NAT) measurement required to enable casino staff and construction workers to work has been abolished and announced by the new Coronavirus Response Coordination Center.

NAT requirements are part of the more stringent Covid-19 precautions set for casinos and construction sites, requiring workers to undergo a rapid antigen test (RAT) daily. All costs are borne by the employer.

As of 2:48 pm today, all casino and construction workers do not need to get NAT, but they do have to undergo daily RAT and declare their results in the Macao Health Code.

According to the center, a decision was made to avoid crowds at risk of viral infections gathering at the NAT center. It’s unclear if guests no longer need to provide 48 hours of NAT results when entering the casino.
