According to local police, a man working at a slaughterhouse in Tilburg was attacked by a bull and died.
The accident happened at Vion Monastery around 6:30 am. An ambulance was called to the slaughterhouse, but the man was declared dead at the scene.
Inspectors from the Ministry of Social Affairs are investigating what has happened now, and police said they would not release any further information while it was in progress.
A spokesman for the labor inspector told local broadcaster Omroep Brabant that bull attacks are rare, but there are no statistics on their frequency.
Broadcasters said the man could have been attacked while the bull was being transported from the transport truck to the slaughterhouse itself.
Mr Bion said slaughterhouse workers were “shocked” by the incident, but said he would not make any further statements while the investigation continued.
