The flexibility of working from home has its advantages, but you may find that you work longer than usual, according to recent research. This can be a mental health burden in the long run.

An online poll of 1,200 respondents by The Straits Times in November 2020 found that 71% were more stressed after starting work at home.

A recent survey of 1076 workers commissioned by the newspaper in January found that one in two Singapore employees worked longer hours since the Covid-19 pandemic began two years ago. Is working on.

The main reasons for long hours are the difficulty of demarcating telecommuting arrangements, the increased number of tasks such as increased paperwork, and the coverage of quitting colleagues.

According to observers, the findings are not surprising. In other parts of the world, studies show that Covid-19 disrupts work schedules and is likely to work on weekends and 9 to 5 hours off.
