Doha: Banyan Tree Doha recently announced the appointment of Jose Porto Carrero (pictured) as the new general manager. He oversees the overall operation of the iconic luxury hotels and homes in the heart of Mshaireb.

A national of Mexico and Venezuela, Portocarrero has over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry and over 10 years as general manager of luxury and luxury international hotel brands.

His commitment to Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts spans almost 10 years. Prior to his appointment at Banyan Tree Doha, he was General Manager at Banyan Tree Cabo Marquez, Mexico. Porto Carrero has joined Doha as a general manager to Banyan Tree Doha, making it its current city of residence for the first time.
