beast, is a story of human vs. predator survival. This time, a man and two teenagers pitted against the King of the Jungle, or Simba, as he is known in some circles as the Lion.

In this particular CGI slasher, Dr. Nate Samuels (Idris Elba) is the man, and Meredith (Iyana Harry) and Nora (Leah Jeffries) are the teenage daughters.

Interesting, right? When a catshit-obsessed lion hits a car window for the first time and a big movie theater subwoofer rattles your seat, it’s sure to grab attention.

Then, the more we see Simba in all his computer-generated glory, the more interesting it becomes like a bad dream.

Good thing this is over very quickly. With a duration of just 93 minutes, this beast is already long forgotten once it leaves the theater.

Directed by Balthasar Kormakul. Written by Ryan Engle and Jaime Primak Sullivan. beast Premiered in Finland on September 2nd.
