Bermuda foster parents were recently commended for their thank-you tea, recognizing the role of more than 40 foster parents in supporting their children in the foster parent system.

A government spokesperson said: Tiny Farbert, JP MP, has joined the child development department to celebrate Bermuda’s foster parents.

“The Thanksgiving Tea held at the Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club on Sunday, May 22nd saw more than 40 foster parents who were recognized for their role in helping their children under the Bermuda foster care system.”

Minister Farbert participated in the award and said: “Foster Parents Month ended on May 31, but the Department of Child and Family Services continues to encourage families to consider supporting foster children. The ministry is open to individuals as 65 children are foster parents. I am calling to open the house. “
