The Bermuda Lawn Tennis Association’s back-to-school tournament has concluded at WER Joel Tennis Stadium.
In the boys’ under-12 final, Hassan Khan defeated Chase McCrimon in straight sets 6-3 6-3. The match was postponed for a few minutes because McCrimmon rolled his ankle, but after a little treatment he was able to restart.
Kaian Hands defeated Tristan Pettit in straight sets 7-6, 6-3 to win the Under-14 men’s title.
Hans and Pettit took to the court in the boys’ under-16 final. This time it was Pettitte who lifted the title by defeating Hands with his 6-4 6-1.
The organizers said, “The BLTA Back to School Junior Open tennis event was a success. I think I want to do.
“The kids enjoyed the tournament and managed the stifling heat well! It was amazing to see their resilience, love of the game and sportsmanship. Interestingly, the same two of men made it to the under-14 and under-16 finals and had to face each other twice on the same day.”
