Bobby Brazier says his late mother, Jade Goody, is “proud” to join the cast of EastEnders for her acting debut.
The 19-year-old took on the role of Freddie Slater, son of Maureen “Little Mo” Slater, in his first scene on the BBC soap opera, which airs Tuesday night.
Brazier admitted he was apprehensive about his new adventure, but the cast made him feel “very comfortable right away.”
Giving his first TV interview on Good Morning Britain from the set of EastEnders, he said he knew his mother helped him get into acting.

About how he feels about his new role, he said: I have never acted before.
“I’m a little thrown out, but I’d like to say I’m swimming.
The actor added:
Brazier also admitted that despite Slater’s reputation, he feels his family isn’t “not very different” from what he knows.
