British talent went well with the 74th Emmy nominations, with some British celebrities nodding.

At the nominations on Tuesday, olin Firth and Jodie Comer won the highest award.

The annual ceremony recognizes the best television and is sponsored by the American Television Academy.


Jodie Comer was nominated for a prominent actress in the drama series for playing the mentally ill Villanelle in the popular BBC series Killing Eve (Ian West / PA).

The nominations were read aloud by actors JB Smooth and Melissa Fumero at a virtual ceremony.

Firth has been nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Leading Actor in Limited Series or Anthology Series or Movies for his role on HBO’s The Staircase.

Actors were recognized in this category alongside fellow compatriots Andrew Garfield and Himesh Patel, as well as Michael Keaton and Sebastian Stan.

Lily James, co-star of Pam and Tommy Stan, nodded in the category of limited or anthology series or movie starring actresses.

Comer was nominated for a prominent actress in the drama series for playing the mentally ill Villanelle in the popular BBC series Killing Eve.

The actress has been nominated with her co-star Sandra Oh, and the pair faces competition in the category from euphoria star Zendaya.

Laura Linney, Reese Witherspoon and Melanie Lynskey have also been nominated for this category.

Elsewhere, Brian Cox confronts his successor co-star Jeremy Strong. Both were nominated for the lead actor in the drama series because of their role as part of the feuding Roy family.

Adam Scott, Bob Odenkirk, and Jason Bateman nodded in this category, as did Korean actor Lee Jung Jae of the squid game.

Like Ozark, Squid Game, Severance, Euphoria, and Netflix’s hit “Stranger Things,” their successors have also hinted at an outstanding drama series.

Richmond-based football comedy Ted Lasso has also won numerous nominations, and the show has once again been nominated for an outstanding comedy series.

The show rivals a record 2021 Emmy nomination with a total of 20 nods.

British stars Hannah Wadingham, Juno Temple and Sarah Niles have been nominated for the best supporting actresses in the comedy series.

Comedians Brett Goldstein and Nick Mohammad were nominated for Best Supporting Actors in the Comedian Series, and Jason Sudeikis nodded to the outstanding leading actors in the Comedian Series.

The Brit Award-winning Adele was nominated for the outstanding variety special (recorded) category of her one-night-only show, as well as returning to Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: ​​Hogwarts.

The 74th Emmy Awards will be held on September 12th at Network NBC in the United States.
