Seventeen-year-old Mac Rutherford landed in Sofia yesterday, breaking the current world record for being the youngest pilot to fly around the world.

His achievements were recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records, and he was given two certificates upon landing: the youngest person (male) to circumnavigate the world solo in an airplane, and the youngest person to circumnavigate the world solo in a light aircraft. I became (male). .

Rutherford took off from Sofia and landed again on March 23 of this year, traveling to 52 countries and logging nearly 250 flight hours.

Sponsored by the Bulgarian company ICDSoft, Bulgaria was the starting and ending point of his journey.

After landing, Rutherford told reporters that his five-month journey and the fact that he left Bulgaria and arrived was “truly amazing. I’m very happy. It’s been a very exciting and very enjoyable trip. .”

Rutherford, a Belgian-British pilot, was born on June 21, 2005 and was 17 at the time of the flight. He spent his whole life in Belgium.
