Britney Spears’ ex-husband has been transferred to California’s second prison and will face two more felony charges.
Jason Alexander, 40, was charged with stealing $2,000 worth of bracelets from a woman renting a room in Napa County in 2015.
A spokesperson for the Napa County Sheriff’s Department confirmed to PA news agency that Alexander was transferred to the county jail on Tuesday after serving in Ventura County.
Alexander was convicted of trespassing and assault last month after trying to sabotage the wedding of Ms. Spears and Mr. Sam Asghari.
PA understands that Napa County officials requested a hold on his release after he completed his sentence.
Alexander’s bail has been set at $20,000 and he is scheduled to appear in Napa County Superior Court on Wednesday.
He has been charged with theft and trafficking in stolen goods.
Henry Wofford, spokesman for the Napa County Sheriff’s Office, told the PA that the crime was committed in 2015 after Alexander rented a room from a woman at American Canyon in Napa County.
“She had a room she wanted to rent and was looking for a tenant to rent it. A friend recommended Mr. Alexander,” he said.
“Alexander moved there and within the first month of living there, the homeowner noticed a $2,000 bracelet missing from his bedroom.
“She asked Mr. Alexander if he stole the bracelet and he said no and eventually moved out.
“She contacted him again and Mr. Alexander admitted that he had stolen her bracelet and had it pawn at a local pawn shop.”
Wofford added that the woman did not retrieve the bracelet from the pawn shop and contacted the sheriff at that point.
By the time the report was filed in 2016, he had left the state.
Alexander was previously sentenced to serve 128 days in prison in Ventura County after being convicted of misdemeanor charges at Ms. Spears’ address.
He was found not guilty of felony stalking and a further misdemeanor of vandalism.
Alexander was Spears’ first husband, less than three days before the marriage was annulled in 2004.
