Bermuda Hospital Commission [BHB] Today, Butterfield & Vallis announced that they have won the Corporate Blood Drive.
A spokeswoman said: “In this 9th competition, 15 local companies competed. All blood donations from employees or their friends and family count in the final total. The winner is always June 14, 2022. Announced on World Blood Donor Day, which is a further celebration of World Blood Donor Day, the King Edward VII Memorial Acute Care Wing will turn red this week. “
“The winner’s trophy was presented to Butterfield & Barris by Health Minister Hong. Kim Wilson JPMP, Chief Medical Officer, Dr Ayoola Oyinloye, BHB Chief of Staff, Dr Wesley Miller, and the Bermuda Blood Donation Center Team.”
Dr. Eyitayo Fakunle, a hematologist, commented: All donations are the donations we need and we just need to participate to help our employees come and donate.
“Thanks to everyone, and a special congratulations to Butterfield & Vallis for being the first to participate in the contest. The last two years have been very difficult for individuals and businesses. Continuing to donate blood. The support helped us maintain our blood supply and save lives in Bermuda. “
The 15 companies that competed in this year’s contest were AF Smith, Ascot, Axis, Bermuda Monetary Authority, BF & M, Butterfield & Vallis, Conyers Dill & Pearman, Fidelity, FIL, Freisenbruch, Lancashire, Liberty, Marsh McLennan, Ministry of Public Works and Renaissance Re.
Lucy Correia, a phlebotomist at the Blood Donor Center, commented: Butterfield & Vallis participated in the 2014/15 contest and has participated every year since then. They really won this year! We hope that more companies will consider participating.
“It’s a great way to build bonds and boost morale, and every donation can help up to three people in Bermuda. There is no better way to support the community, and It will be a special celebration to participate in the 10th contest at Corporate Blood Drive 2022/23! “
Terri Durrant, Advertising Manager and Wellness Chair at Butterfield & Vallis, commented: “Supporting blood donations is a passion of Butterfield & Vallis and his employees. Congratulations to all of our colleagues who rolled up their sleeves to donate blood this year.
Some people took a long time to get the courage to donate in the first place, but now they are regulars. We look forward to the fierce competition next year and are determined to double it! “
