Le Fong was ordered to suspend all work at height throughout the workplace and was banned from hiring new foreign employees for three months.
So far, it is the first company to be subject to tougher measures under the six-month “enhanced safety” period from September 1, 2023 to February 28, 2023.
During this period, companies with unsafe working conditions or poor risk management after a serious or fatal workplace accident may be banned from hiring new foreign employees for up to three months.
“In line with newly enhanced security measures, Lim had to appear in person and explain to MOM,” the ministry said.
“Mr Lim admitted that the company had failed to implement adequate systems to address safety hazards from working at height.”
