Katie Taylor has reaffirmed her desire to rematch Amanda Serrano in Dublin after a comfortable win over Argentina’s Karen Elizabeth Carvajal at Wembley Arena.

Taylor, 36, put in another classic performance, surpassing Carbajal to retain her undisputed lightweight title by unanimous points decision.

Taylor extended her unbeaten record to 22 fights and said she would like to face Serrano again after beating Puerto Rico by split decision on women’s boxing’s historic night at Madison Square Garden in April.

“I would love to see a fight at Croke Park with 80,000 people,” Taylor said in a post-fight interview. It will be”

Taylor paid tribute to her traveling fans who made it to Wembley, adding: I’m really thankful to you.

“It’s been an amazing six years as a pro, but the best is yet to come and I can’t wait for Croke Park next year.”

Taylor and Serrano made history in a thrilling spectacle, becoming the first women to headline a boxing event at the iconic New York venue.

Promoter Eddie Hahn said: This year he was September 15th and we were thinking of going there for a rematch.

“Amanda Serrano is saying the right thing now, but there’s no time to wait for Amanda Serrano. I hope it’s her, but it doesn’t matter who it is. But it’s It has to be Ireland.”

“She’s obviously a tough, tough fighter. She had everything she could get to come here tonight. But I think she boxed very smartly.

“22 wins from 22 games, still undefeated, unbeatable, that’s all.”

Reflecting on his career after making his professional debut six years ago, Taylor said:

“It’s been an amazing six years and I’m so grateful to Eddie for giving me the opportunity to headline another show.

“Women’s boxing has reached such heights thanks to Eddie for giving us this opportunity. Thank you Eddie.”

Taylor proved a step too far for the 32-year-old Argentinian Carvajal from Buenos Aires. Carvajal proved to be a worthy challenger, but he lost for the first time in 20 fights after finishing second in every division.

Taylor, who turned pro in 2016, has shown excellent hand speed, footwork and accuracy to push the advantage in the second half of the match.

Carvajal came out swinging in the penultimate ninth round, cutting the right side of his face following an accidental head clash.

Taylor won the fight heading into the final round, but in typical fashion, chasing a grandstand finish as two looping right hands shook his opponent.
