The Dage Minors, who will be competing in the NACAC Senior Championship in Freeport, Bahamas this week, is ending his memorable season.
The minors set a personal best and a new national record in Pennsylvania’s West Chester Mile last week, finishing sixth in 4:2.09, heading into the Caribbean in great shape.
The 26-year-old, who finished ninth in the 1,500 meters at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, said another PB would be the perfect end to his campaign, competing in the same distance in the Bahamas.
“I had high hopes for this season, but at the same time, I tried to downplay almost everything,” Miners told Barnews.
“I aim to put in a good race and become able to run fast. If it’s a fast race, I want to end the year with a personal best.
“I am a little tired physically and mentally, but this is what I wanted and I wanted to be able to race in the second half of the season and give my best. Then I just race.”
The minors expect the competition to be fierce as the United States and Canada send in competitive teams, but compared to their last appearance at the NACAC in Toronto four years ago, ” I feel like a different athlete, both mentally and physically.

Also representing Bermuda at the Friday-Sunday NACAC are Miners Commonwealth Games teammates Jah-Nhai Perinchief, who won bronze in the triple jump in Birmingham, high jumper Sakari Famous, and discus thrower Tiara DeRosa. is.
Some athletes are making senior debuts, including sprinters Suresh Black, Ketra Balford Trott and Antonio Bailey, long jumpers Michal Dill, and 1,500m Sheila Kang and Ryan Outerbridge.
Bermuda will field teams in a mixed relay consisting of Minor, Bailey, Balford Trot and Can.
