Daisy Edgar-Jones shipped her DJ deck to the United States and performed an instant performance for fellow cast members while filming her co-star Where The Crawdads Sing.
Taylor John Smith said the actress was “Rad” and taught him how to “rotate the deck” in a shared apartment during production in Louisiana.
Scheduled to be released later this year, the film is based on the best-selling novel of the same name, produced by Reese Witherspoon and by Delia Owens.
Kaya (Jones), a girl living alone in a swamp in North Carolina, follows the story of a local murder mystery.
“It was astounding,” Smith told PA News Agency at the MTV Movie and TV Awards.
“(Daisy’s) It’s so funny when you’re not working that you forget how great an actor she is.
“It was a very good experience. I didn’t feel like I had a tough day. Every moment I just enjoyed it.
“She taught us how to spin decks and DJs during our off-time. She’s very enthusiastic.
“She shipped them from the UK and was completely DJing in our apartment.”
The actor added that during the four months of filming, the pair was also indulging in movie nights and nature walks, but couldn’t go to the proper British pub crawl.
He added that he would work “heartbeat” again with Jones and do it “for free”.
Smith also admitted that after hearing it at the end of the special screening, he was excited to learn that pop megastar Taylor Swift wrote the original song for the movie.
“I thought’I know that voice’… it was so cool,” he said.
