Bermuda’s Dame Flora Duffy added yet another victory to her already impressive resume, winning the World Triathlon Championship Series in Hamburg, Germany today. [July 9]..
Duffy recorded a time of 58:37, 9:41 while swimming, 31:34 on a bicycle and 16:17 while riding. Beth Potter of England was second at 58:43 and Lisa Telc of Germany was third at 58:53.
Duffy managed to win despite being penalized for a “T1 violation” of 10 seconds because his swim goggles were left outside the transition box.
This is her 13th career WTCS victory, and the organizer tweeted the following video, stating “Flora Duffy’s class showing that she is one of the greatest triathletes of all time to win in Hamburg.” I am.
