Daniel Radcliffe thanked his parents who had “a foresight many years ago” to make him an Englishman so he could develop a “naturally evil” accent.
His Harry Potter star won the Best Villain Award at the MTV Movie and TV Awards for his performance with Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum in The Lost City.
He fought off competition, including Colin Farrell and Willem Dafoe, to scoop up the prize.
Radcliffe said receiving praise was “really, really, really cool” and thanked his co-stars and production team for a short virtual acceptance speech.
“To be honest, it’s English that makes my job the easiest,” he said.
“This is a universally recognized accent of pure evil … the voice of kicking a puppy or feeding Oliver Twist more.
