SINGAPORE: Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keet will make an official visit to Vietnam from Sunday (September 11) to Thursday.

During his visit, he will meet with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Trinh, Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai and Vo Van Thuong, a permanent member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

He will also meet with Ho Chi Minh City Party Secretary Nguyen Van Neng, Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Chairman Phan Van Mai and members of the local business community.

During his trip, Mr. Heng will visit the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) in Binh Duong Province. This was his first VSIP which he founded in 1996.

“Today’s 10 VSIPs in Vietnam are key elements of our economic engagement, attracting $14 billion in investment and creating more than 270,000 jobs in Vietnam,” said the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). ) said in a statement on Saturday.

Heng, who is also Minister for Economic Policy Coordination, will be accompanied by officials from the PMO, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Singapore Business and the Economic Development Board.
