Paris: Seven French and one Italian on Wednesday for stealing the work of graffiti artist Banksy, which was sprayed on the emergency door of the Bataclan Theater in Paris to honor the victims of the November 2015 attack. Will be tried in Paris.
In June 2018, Banksy created a mural of a veiled female figure in a sad pose on the door of the fire exit of the concert venue. There, 90 people were killed in an attack by an armed Islamic group that killed 130 people in and around Paris.
The door stolen in January 2019 was found on a farmhouse by Italian police in 2020 and returned to France.
“Many people in the audience fled from this emergency exit, which lived, heard, and saw the entire slaughter,” said Roman Ambassador to Rome Christian Masset at the time.
Banksy, whose true identity is unknown, has become one of the most famous figures in the contemporary art scene, with a series of publicly inspired works that combine street art techniques with topical themes. ..
