Hanoi, July 8, 2022 (VNA / WAM)-According to Vietnam Social Security (VSS), more than 8.68 million people in Vietnam, or 88.99% of the population, had health insurance by the end of June.

At a meeting on Friday, VSS Deputy Secretary Dao Viet Anh said health insurance policy is increasingly confirming its role in society.

By the end of June, more than 17.1 million people had social insurance, which is 33.87% of the working-age population, an increase of 6.16% from the same period last year. This includes about 1.5 million people with voluntary social insurance.

Meanwhile, statistics show that about 14 million people, or 27.55% of the workforce, have unemployment insurance, up 5.13% year-on-year.

Ann prioritizes the rights and interests of insureds, and VSS has been actively working with relevant ministries to provide maximum support for obtaining insurance benefits.
