ABU DHABI, Sept. 7, 2022 (WAM) — The Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates (CBUAE) and the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in electronic payment systems.
The MoU comes as part of the efforts of both entities to implement the UAE’s strategy and achieve the goal of digital transformation of services provided to individuals. It aims to connect CBUAE’s electronic payment system to GCAA and help strengthen effective controls for paying wages and entitlements for workers in the civil aviation sector.
The MoU was signed by CBUAE Assistant Governor for Monetary Policy and Financial Stability Ebrahim Obaid Al Zahbi and GCAA Executive Director Saif Mohamed Al Suwaidi.
The MoU includes partnerships and collaborations on common issues that provide a stable working environment for aviation industry employees.
