MORONI, Sept. 4, 2022 (WAM) — Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) authorities announced that as part of several development projects carried out in collaboration with the UAE Embassy in Moheli, Opened Umm Al Emarat Hospital on Moheli Island. About 20,000 inhabitants of the island will benefit from hospitals aimed at supporting the health sector, strengthening its capacity and improving services for the benefit of the people there. A hospital consists of various important facilities such as wards, intensive care, natural delivery, surgery, anesthesia, sterilization, NICU specialties, administration rooms and toilets for doctors, nurses and medical staff.

Addressing the ceremony, Al-Shamsi delivered greetings from Her Highness Sheikh Fatima bint Mubarak to the Government and people of Comoros and conveyed her heartfelt wishes for the progress and prosperity of the country.

“Today, I am delighted to attend the opening ceremony of this hospital, which reflects the longstanding relationship between the two fraternal peoples of the UAE and the Comoros,” said the Minister.

Al-Junaibi said the hospital adds to the UAE’s humanitarian aid footprint in the Comoros, which covers various sectors including health, education, social services and housing. “Today, we are taking another step in providing health care services to mothers and children.”

Comoros officials and people thanked Her Highness Sheikh Fatima for her noble initiative and sincerely thanked her for her wise leadership to the UAE and its unwavering support, as part of initiatives to support the education sector, 12 schools are being established and refurbished.
