PARIS, 18 August 2022 (WAM) — At least six people, including a teenage girl, died as storms hit France’s Mediterranean island of Corsica on Thursday, with more severe weather forecast by meteorologists Reuters reported.

Hail, heavy rain and 224 km/h winds hit the island. Two of his victims died when trees fell at his campsite.

A sea-formed storm will affect much of the western Corsica coast overnight from Thursday to Friday, Météo-France said.

France’s Interior Minister Gérald Dalmanin said the cruise ship capsized or drifted and at one point 350 people were missing, but they have now been confirmed alive.
