Geneva, June 23, 2022 (WAM)-Will the World Health Organization (WHO) convene an expert meeting on Thursday to see the epidemic of monkeypox as a public health emergency of international concern? A German news agency (dpa) report to evaluate.
Independent experts will find out if the world needs to be informed about the growing health threat. The results of these deliberations were not expected until Friday.
Designating a global health emergency has no immediate practical consequences other than making governments and the general public more vigilant.
The Monkeypox Committee of the United Nations Health Organization is made up of about 12 scientists.
