The energy crisis is due to a lack of investment, not the Ukraine war, said Irene Rummelhoff, executive vice president of marketing, midstream and processing at Equinor.
At the ONS conference in Stavanger (offshore North Sea), Rummelhoff said he believed “rhetoric” from politicians and other stakeholders contributed to the lack of investment, Dagens Næringsliv said. The newspaper writes.
“The underinvestment is largely caused by the low prices during and before the pandemic. Did.
Rummelhoff is one of Equinor’s top executives, closest to the European gas market.
“There is a big misconception there. It is that the energy crisis was caused by the war. .
“This is the result of many years of underinvestment in energy, energy of all kinds, and that is exactly what we are also experiencing in Norway,” Rumelhof said.
