Pret A Manger’s first Irish shop opens in Dublin City Centre.

The new Dawson Street shop of the popular British coffee chain will open 20 stores across the Republic and Northern Ireland over the next decade, creating about 500 jobs in total.

The Dawson Street shop works with many local Irish suppliers and daily food surpluses are donated to DePaul Dublin through the Prett Foundation.

On Thursday, Pret gave 300 lucky customers a free lunch ahead of its official opening on Friday.

The 25 new staff in Dublin are expected to welcome around 10,000 customers over the next week and will offer “the same great-tasting products that Pret is known for, including fresh, handcrafted food and organic coffee and tea. are all prepared daily in the store’s onsite kitchen.”
