Reckitt has promised to export 63 million servings of infant formula by November. The company said in June that it represents “the greatest commitment ever” from any manufacturer in resolving the ongoing shortage of infant formula in the United States.
Base powder produced at the Tuath plant is blended and packaged in the United States.
Arthur Pike, Senior Director of Global Manufacturing (Nutrition) at Reckitt Benquiser, said:
“We do not deprive our factories of our capacity to support local and ASEAN companies.”
The factory operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Mr. Pike said the use of automated machines helped increase production.
Base powder will be shipped down Operation Fly Formula, An initiative by US authorities to import milk powder from other countries.
