Former Sinn Féin party TD Violet Ann Win states that she and her six children are now homeless.

In a short video posted on Twitter with the message “TD could be homeless in Ireland 2022,” Ms. Win discusses finding accommodation for her family in Claire.

The current independent TD said the number of properties suitable for her situation is “minimal”, especially as she needs a four-bedroom home for her family.

The TD will be paid € 101,193 and since she lives in Claire, she is entitled to € 31,365 a year for travel and accommodation.

In a video message, Win was informed to quit and said he was having a hard time finding new accommodation for his young family.

“The housing crisis is a big problem in this country and in my Clare County,” she said.

“At the time of the notice of resignation, even finding a hotel space was very difficult and the holiday home was the only answer for our family, but it’s not a sustainable solution for our family. ..

“So we can keep hope and hopefully get good news,” she added.

She did not respond to requests for comment on the video.

Ms. Win resigned from the Sinn Féin party in February, claiming she was “isolated” and exposed to “psychological warfare.”

Claire TD, who is on maternity leave after giving birth to her sixth child recently, said she did not feel the support of the party after being elected to Dáil in 2020.

She also claimed that her “unplanned pregnancy” was used by some of the parties as a “stick to defeat her.”

Ms. Win said she was disappointed that Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald did not contact her to celebrate the recent birth of her child.

However, she received a handwritten note from the leader of the Fine Gael, Leo Varadkar.

After Mr. Win publicly complained about the lack of approval from the leaders of the Sinn Féin party, Mr. McDonald sent a card and gift to the former TD.
