The captain in question sailed many times in December and January without renewing his license. He also registered another captain for his voyage without their knowledge.

According to the Suðurlands District Court’s ruling, the man has never been convicted. He will confess his crime and pay a fine of 362,000 ISK. If the captain keeps his promise, the execution of the judgment will be postponed and will expire two years later.
