Restaurant ÓX in Roygavegle won a Michelin star at the Nordic countries awards ceremony in Stavanger, Norway yesterday. Dill, also in Roygavegle, maintained the Michelin star it received two years ago, Vísir reports.
At the ceremony, chef Lunar Pierre Helivo and Þráinn Freyr Vigfússon, one of the founders and owners of ÓX, won the award on behalf of the restaurant. Gunner Karl Gislason, the founder and owner of Dill, also attended the ceremony.
Þráinn Freyr said at the ceremony that he was proud to follow in the footsteps of Gunnar Karl.
Dill was also awarded the Green Star for a restaurant that excels in sustainable cuisine.
ÓX and Dill were also recognized by Reykjavik Grapevine at this year’s Best of Reykjavik Awards in the Dining category. ÓX has won the best tasting menu and Dill has won the best place for a gorgeous meal.
