Volcanologists say this is just a small part of what’s to come, as the Meradalur volcanic eruption is coming to an end, reports RÚV.

To celebrate reaching 200 RVK Newscast episodes on YouTube and another eruption on Meradaryl, we have a volcano-themed giveaway for you! Follow our Instagram page for more. Also, if you order a theme box by the 25th, all orders will get lava from the new eruption for free.

Earth scientists have been conducting research at Meradalur to learn more about the eruption and the potential for future eruptions.

Geoscientists do not believe this is the end of Meradalur’s eruption.

“The northern crater was active yesterday and the day before,” say the geoscientist. “I think it’s slow and easy now. The turbulence and forces inside the crater are in free fall.”

Earth scientists will continue to monitor the area to determine if and when the next eruption will occur.
