YouthVision Promotions will host a “Live In Peace” Gombei Celebration on Saturday, September 3rd, and the Hamilton Parish Back-to-School Party on Sunday, September 4th.
A spokesperson said, “First, YouthVision Promotions would like to extend our deepest condolences to the families and friends of the young people who lost their lives to violence.
“We would like to invite the community to attend the Osagi Bascome ‘Live In Peace’ Gombey Celebration on Saturday, September 3rd at 6:30pm in St. George’s. It was planned for 1999 and was not in response to a community call.
“This is a united call to Bermuda to unite to promote peace with the community of St. George. The Last Gombe Festival [Hamilton Parish] I saw everyone from gangsters to old ladies holding hands and hugging to promote peace. We encourage all sectors of Bermuda to come out to join hands again, hug and show each other love.
“The Gombey family will leave St George’s Cricket Club at 6:30pm and walk to Kings Square. [they will perform] Return to St George’s Cricket Club for Gombey’s final performance.
“The next day, Sunday, September 4th, YouthVision Promotions will host the Hamilton Parish Back-to-School Party on the Francis Patton Elementary School field.
“The event will include back-to-school giveaways, a fun castle, a 5-a-side community football tournament, meals, family games, trophies, medals, awards, entertainers, and more fun for families. Everyone in Hamilton Parish, go out and have fun.
“This event will include a variety of community partners. It will be a memorable event for the Hamilton Parish community.
