After the project goes into operation, the time required for emergency water supply to Macau and Zhuhai will be reduced from the current 7-10 days to 3 days, ensuring water supply to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area.

The total cost of the project, which began construction in 2014, is estimated at RMB 35.736 billion (MOP41.4 billion / US$5.12 billion).

Although the normal water level of the reservoir is 61 meters, the total capacity of the reservoir is 3,479 million cubic meters, and the reservoir capacity for flood control is 1,500 million cubic meters, making it one of the most important places for flood control in the basin. I’m here.
