The Duke and Duchess of Sussex adopted a beagle named Mamma Mia.

A 7-year-old rescue dog joins fellow beagle guy and a black Labrador, believed to be named Pula, at the family’s home in Montecito, California.

The Los Angeles Times reported that Mamma Mia was rescued along with 4,000 other beagles by federal authorities in Virginia in July.

She added:

Keith said they talked for 30 minutes, and she wondered if it was Megan Fox, but it was indeed the Duchess of Sussex.

According to the newspaper, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry visited after working hours and played with Mia, who had eight newborn puppies.

“The Duchess was holding Mia and saying, ‘We’re adopting her,'” Keith told the Los Angeles Times.

Meghan, an animal lover, has adopted a number of rescue dogs over the years, including bringing an American Rescue Beagle Guy to the UK when she married Harry.

The former actress chose animal welfare charity Mayhew as one of her first backers.

When she moved to England to be with Harry, she had to leave Bogart, a Labrador-Shepard mix, behind in America.

Meghan has previously said that a pair of rescue dogs “mean the absolute world” to her, calling them “my dear” and “my boy.”

Guy and Bogart regularly appear on their Instagram accounts, with Guy even wearing a patriotic knitted Union Flag jumper.

Meghan frequently used the #adoptdontshop hashtag in her Instagram posts.

American comedian and chat show host Ellen DeGeneres convinced Meghan to adopt her first pet, Bogart, after he bumped into her at a shelter.

The Queen is the royal family best known for her love of dogs.

In a 2017 engagement interview, Harry said the Queen’s corgi and dawgie were “soon” taken to Meghan.

He said: “And the Corgi took you right away.

“I’ve been barked at for the last 33 years. This comes in and absolutely nothing…”

Meghan said of the moment, “It was so sweet, just laying down with a cup of tea.”

And Harry added:
