NH Industries, the producer of the NH90 helicopter, considers the termination of the helicopter contract by Norway to be “legally unfounded.”

“NH Industries is very disappointed with the Norwegian Ministry of Defense’s decision and has rejected charges against NH90 and the company,” the company said in a statement on Friday.

They added that they were not given the opportunity to discuss proposals to improve the availability of NH90 in Norway, nor to address the special requirements of Norway.

The Ministry of Defense announced on Friday that it would terminate the contract between the Coast Guard and the 14 NH90 helicopters that the Norwegian Navy was supposed to use.
