Singer and TV host Jamelia said being a mother was her “greatest blessing”, but experienced “an incredible trauma” with the birth of her fourth child.
The 41-year-old former host of Loose Women gave birth to an unnamed daughter at 36 weeks by emergency caesarean section on October 4.

“I was in labor for a month, but my main goal was to keep the baby as long as possible.
A month after her membranes broke, the baby’s heart rate dropped so dramatically that a midwife at Birmingham Women’s Hospital decided to induce labor.
Jamelia said:
There’s this idea of ’too fancy to push’ — that’s the easier option. And I’m recovering from major surgery while caring for a newborn. ”
A mother of four, she was accompanied by her 17-year-old daughter Tiani. Tiani flipped a coin with her older sister Teja, 21, to see who would be her birth partner.
Jamelia’s husband of five years, who has kept his identity hidden from the public eye, stayed home to care for their four-year-old daughter True while she was in the hospital.
“I know it sounds selfish, but I wanted to share this experience with my daughters,” said Jamelia.

She added that the latest addition to the family is the “easiest, easiest baby” ever.
“She’s a great communicator, very calm, and seamlessly ingrained herself into the family. It’s been a dream to have her.”
“Being a mother of four daughters feels like the greatest gift.
“I feel so lucky to have been pregnant in my teens, 20s, 30s and now in my 40s. was my greatest blessing.”
