Soul -Korean boy band BTS will release a new album “Proof” on Friday to commemorate the 9th anniversary of their debut this month.

The album will be released at 1:00 pm (Greenwich Mean Time 0400). The teaser track “Yetto Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)” has been played over 17.8 million times on YouTube in less than two days.

Last year, the seven-member group became the first Asian band to win this year’s artist at the American Music Awards. Last week, they met with US President Joe Biden at the White House to discuss hate crimes targeting Asians.

The band debuted on June 13, 2013 and has since been at the forefront of the global K-POP boom with lyrics and social campaigns aimed at empowering young people.

But their fan base extends to old demographics, linking their spending power to the Internet-savvy generation, who harness the power of social media.

Last November, BTS went on stage at a concert in Los Angeles for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic began. In March, BTS returned to their home country with three concerts in Seoul.
