Kate Garraway said her husband, Derek Draper, returned to the hospital during the fight against Covid-19.
A 54-year-old former political adviser, who became seriously ill in March 2020, suffers long-term damage to organs and requires routine care, even though he is not currently infected with the virus.
Last year, Gallaway was awarded the National Television Awards for the documentary Finding Derek for her family’s experience during a pandemic.
It detailed the treatment of her husband and the subsequent return to their parents’ home.
Gallaway spoke at the Tric Awards and told Draper’s PA news agency:

Gallaway and Draper were married in 2005 and have two children, Darcy and Billy.
Draper’s fight against the virus has received a lot of attention and support from the Prime Minister and the royal family.
