Love Island’s first hearing-impaired person spoke openly about cochlear implant wear in the first episode of the show’s 8th series.

Odel and dancer Tasha Gori from Thirsk, North Yorkshire has been deaf since birth and is listening with cochlear implants.

During the first episode of the ITV2 date show on Monday night, Tasha (23) gathered her fellow islanders around the fire pit to reveal her “superpower.”

Regarding her deafness, she said:

“It’s the cool thing I have about myself. It doesn’t define me. It’s just part of who I am.”

She added, “I call it my superpower.”

After sharing her story, Tasha’s fellow islanders reacted positively.

Luca Bish, a Brighton fish store, said: “”

While Indiya Pollack was talking about a moving moment, “She was very open about it, and I could see in her face that it was a big deal for her.

“So I wanted to give her a big hug, because I wanted her to know that she wasn’t alone. We support her no matter what she’s experiencing. I’m here to do.

After opening the door to the contestants, Tasha expressed joy in their positive reaction.

“I love this,” she said.

Added: “I’m very happy that all girls and men really support it.”

At the start of the 8th series, Love Island host Laura Whitmore revealed to the islanders that their couple was chosen by the general public.

The coupling began with Dublin microbiologist Dami Hope and nanny Amber Beckford.

Liam Lewellin, a 22-year-old student from Newport, finds himself in line with Jema Owen, the daughter of former English soccer player Michael Owen.

Tasha has teamed up with realtor Andrew Le Page, while Ikena Ekwonna has teamed up with Indiya, and Emergency Medical Page Thorne has teamed up with Luka.

During the episode, the first bomb in the series also entered the villa.

David Sancrimenti, a business owner from Rome and living in Manchester, shocked the islanders when he stepped into the villa’s yard and asked, “Who ordered an Italian snack?”

David (27) soon caught the eye of some female islanders, and then dared to kiss Jema (19) during the game when asked to kiss someone who wanted to share a bed.

Despite being associated with Liam, Jema said:

“And David is the guy I’m most attracted to … I think it’s still early days.”

Liam seemed to feel Jema’s reservation for him and said, “I saw it come a little.”

Regarding the competition with David, he said: “That is, look at him, and I have to compete with it. He is a good looking young man.”

Love Island will be aired on ITV2 and Virgin Media TV.
