Love Island runner-up Luca Bish asked Gemma Owen to be his girlfriend.
The 23-year-old fishmonger was one of the first contestants in the eighth series of the ITV dating show, finishing second alongside former England striker Michael Owen’s 19-year-old daughter.
In a video posted to Instagram, Bish led Owen through a hallway decorated with red roses, candles, red balloons and rose petals to a pool with the words “Be my girlfriend” floating on it. .
The couple’s Love Island co-stars were among those who sent messages on social media.

During his stint on Love Island, Owen claimed he wanted his family’s approval before taking the next step and making their relationship official.
According to ITV, Bish and Owen won 14.5% of the public vote in the Love Island finals, trailing show winners Kurkroglu and Davide Sanklimenti, who won with 63.7%.
India Pollack and Dami Hope, and Tasha Ghouli and Le Paige also made it to the finals of the Date Series, placing 3rd and 4th respectively.
