There wasn’t much laughter, but President Joe Biden received some one-sided advice from Jimmy Kimmel when he sat down for his first face-to-face interview with his late-night host since he took office.

Host of ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Complaining about Washington’s unmanageable issues on Wednesday, he advised the president, “I think you need to start yelling at people.”

Biden accused the country of still suffering from the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, but claimed that he was “not so optimistic in my life.”

Kimmel intervened immediately. “Why are you so optimistic? It doesn’t make sense!”

Biden said he hopes for young people who are “the most educated, least prejudiced and most generational in American history.”

“This generation will change everything,” Biden said. “We need not to give up.”

First Lady Jill Biden was in the audience with Biden’s granddaughter Naomi and her fiancée.
