Following the decision to allow entry into Macau, Macau will gradually open its borders to citizens of more countries. Passport holders from 41 countries Earlier this week.

Wong Wen Man, director of the Department of Health’s Epidemic Prevention and Control Division, said Macau initially only considered citizens from economically stable countries.

At present, citizens of these countries are allowed to enter Macau after requesting permission from the health authorities.

Mr Wong added: Wait times are now 3-4 hours, about half of what they used to be.

“When they arrive at the airport, a nucleic acid test will be done and the results will be known in three hours. It may take.”

Wong said health officials are monitoring arrangements in neighboring areas, but there are no plans yet to shorten the 7+3 quarantine period. She pointed out that Macau “must be consistent with mainland China’s policy.”

1,294 people are currently trapped in Macau’s quarantine hotel, most of them local residents.

As of 4pm today, health workers have administered 1,492,795 vaccinations.

The Macau border crossing remains busy. Public security police head of public affairs Lei Tak Fai said 1,966,800 people crossed the border between August 25 and 31, slightly less than the previous week.
