Marcus Mumford has revealed that the video for his new song was directed by world-renowned filmmaker Steven Spielberg.
The footage of Manford’s Truck Cannibal was shot in a single series of shots on a mobile phone by an Oscar-winning director at a high school gymnasium in New York.
This is the first music video directed by Spielberg.
Manford said he was “overwhelmed” by the support of those around him and thanked all his crew, including Spielberg and producers Kate Capshaw and Kristie Macosko Krieger.
British actress Carey Mulligan was also credited for the costume design in the video.
Sharing photos taken on Instagram, Manford and Sands frontman wrote:
“Kate Capshaw was an almighty dolly grip.
“I was overwhelmed by the support of the people around me to bring this music to life. I cannot express my gratitude.
“When people get it, it blows my heart away. Kate and Stephen just got it, and I can’t thank them enough.
“Thank you Kate. Thank you Christie. Thank you Stephen.”
