Letter to the Editor | HDB should review current housing policy as more Singaporeans prefer to stay single
Dear Editor,
After reading the report “Singapore’s Social Housing Policy Timeline for Singles” (today, March 13), I had some concerns.
The government is commendable for identifying and acknowledging the rapid decline in fertility and increased life expectancy. The purpose of the government’s population policy is to closely monitor population trends and regularly review population policy along with infrastructure and social development needs.

Protect Singapore Townhall organizers ‘deeply disappointed’ with 377A repeal without guarantee of ‘safeguard to protect children from LGBTQ+ extremism’
After Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong announced in his National Day speech on Sunday (21 August) that Section 377A of the Penal Code would be repealed, organizers of the Protect Singapore Townhall said the law had previously been repealed. “I am very disappointed,” he said. Implement safeguards that provide protection from what they called LGBTQ+ extremism.

Be aware of ongoing phishing scams on Carousell.Victim was told to click on a link from a scammer pretending to be a buyer
The Singapore Police Force (SPF) has called on the public to be aware of the re-emergence of a phishing variant.
Scammers impersonate buyers on e-commerce platform Carousell and, after receiving a phishing URL link, instruct victims to complete transactions on a third-party website.
