Gardai is calling for witnesses today after the death of a motorcyclist in a single-vehicle collision at Raus.

His driver, a man in his 60s, was sentenced to die at the scene of the R173 incident between Carlingford and Omeath around 3:30 pm.

Victims are taken to Louth County Hospital in Dundalk, where an autopsy is performed.

Roads are currently closed and local detours are in place. On-site technical investigations are conducted by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Gardai, meanwhile, is calling on people who may have witnessed the clash to be contacted. Road users who were traveling the area with camera footage (including dash cams) at the time would be required to make it available to Gardai.
