Neighbors star Alan Fletcher said the final day of filming Australia’s longtime soap was not only “very, very sad” but also “very fun” when he reunited with past cast members.
The actor has played Karl Kennedy for 28 years with soap that has followed the lives of working people living and working in the fictional Elinsborough suburbs of Melbourne since 1985.
On Friday, past and present cast members reunited to film the final episode of Australian Soap and sing a special rendition of the theme song.
“It’s bittersweet, but it’s also a celebration.”

Regarding Saturday’s BBC breakfast, Fletcher, 65, said:
“It was a very, very sad day, but it was also a celebration day. It was actually a lot of fun because I was filming one of the very last scenes and surrounded by past cast members. Of course, it was sad that it was the last scene. “
In the final episode, due out on August 1, longtime fan favorites will return to the dead end community on Ramsey Street to say goodbye to soap.
Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan, who starred as power couples Charlene Mitchell and Scott Robinson in the 1980s, were previously announced to be back at the show’s finale.
Fletcher said:
“For example, when I bumped into Peter O’Brien, which I hadn’t personally seen for goodness, I knew how many years, and suddenly we were back in place many years ago.
“It was great to see Paul Kean come back, so it’s an absolute pleasure for people to come back. Being a family, I feel like my second cousin is back for the first time in 10 years. increase.

Memento star Guy Pearce, who began playing Mike Young in Australian soap, confirmed that he had replayed his role after sharing a photo of his recent reunion with the cast and crew.

Joining them were O’Brien, who played Shane Ramsey in the first episode of the show, Ian Smith, who played Harold Bishop, Mark Little, who played Joe Mangel, and Keane, who played De Clark. ..
Among those returning from the 2000s were Chris Milligan, who played Kyle Cunning, Morgan Baker, who played Karam Rebecki, Natalie Bashingswight, who played Izzy Hoyland, and Chris Pappas. There was James Mason.
